E’ Class: Project on the Environment
8:48 μ.μ. sofilab
- To talk about the environmental uses
- To suggest ideas on how we can protect the world we live in
- To realize that each one of us can contribute to the protection of the environment
- To learn vocabulary, relevant to the environment and to practice the grammar structures that are used to talk about the future: Simple Future, be going to and Present Simple.
Pupils expressed their opinions and ideas and made leaflets, presenting their work.
They also had fun making their own bookmarks with themes taken from Nature.
Finally they wrote acrostic poems related to the Environment.

C’ class: “Healthy habits” mini books
8:59 μ.μ. sofilab
Since the book of C’ Class had some lessons related to habits, we expanded the idea by reading a mini book about healthy habits. So children had the opportunity to talk about themselves and to learn some extra vocabulary related to the topic.
In addition to that, they made their own mini books with cute drawings and sentences that helped them practice phrases about staying healthy.
They also had fun using secret codes to present their own healthy habits. Can you decode them?

English – Classes A and B1- “A Robot Craft”
11:20 π.μ. sofilab
Apart from games and songs, another amusing way to learn vocabulary is to make a craft.
So, with pupils of A and B1, we made a robot in order to practice body parts (head, body, legs, arms, tummy).
Our materials were very simple: an empty toilet paper roll converted with aluminium foil for the body,
a piece of aluminium foil shaped as a ball for the head,
3 clothes pegs for the legs
and two straws for the arms.
Here are the samples of our work:

Plates used in … another way
Together with the pupils of A and B1 classes, we talked about parts of the face and about feelings.
We played games miming face expressions, we sang songs repeating the words: eyes, ears, nose and mouth and we had fun making faces with the use of paper plates and plasticine.
Have a look at our faces..
Some of them are happy
or sad
some are angry
or even scared
But all of them are cute.

English B1 Class: The story of Nelly, the caterpillar
8:32 μ.μ. sofilab
Pupils of B1 class, listened to the story of Nelly, the caterpillar, which was small and ugly but it didn’t matter because she had some good friends who accepted her the way she was.
At the end of the story Nelly changed into a beautiful butterfly and everyone was happy.
At the end of the story Nelly changed into a beautiful butterfly and everyone was happy.
They enjoyed themselves and they acted out the story. Here follows a sample of their role playing:
Through the story children realized that we should accept people as they are and support them when they need it.
They were also taught vocabulary connected with insects, feelings and food.

Project – C’ Class – Let’s Make Christmas Crackers
10:56 μ.μ. sofilab
In order to experience the fun of an English Christmas tradition, pupils of C’ class made Christmas crackers.

To make our Christmas crackers we used tubes from toilet rolls. We filled them with small gifts and wishes written on paper and we covered and decorated them with wrapping paper and glossy ribbons.

A Christmas cracker is a tube wrapped by coloured paper, twisted on both sides. It is pulled by two people, often with arms crossed, at the Christmas dinner table. It often contains a coloured paper hat, a small toy and a motto, a joke or a riddle on a small strip of paper.

Project of B’ Class – Puppet theatre
8:44 μ.μ. sofilab
Starting from the fact that children love puppet shows and role playing, the idea of having pupils made their own puppet theatres was tempting. So children of B’ Class embraced that idea and they decided to make it true. They used some shoe boxes, construction paper, glue, ribbons and … a lot of imagination and here are the results:
As soon as their theatres were ready, we had the opportunity to put on our “little plays”. The characters were some animal figures we had previously made. The “story” was quite simple and the volunteers to act it a lot.
Children enjoyed it and I believe that the whole procedure can be very useful, since they will have the chance to learn, repeat and consolidate language structures and new words in an amusing way.
