Aim:

- To motivate pupils to search and gather information about museums or other worth visiting places

- To practice vocabulary related to sightseeing places

Description:

Pupils have to make their own leaflet of a museum or other place they want to present.

They collect photos or draw pictures connected to their choice and they find material which describes what a visitor can do in the particular place.

They stick all the material on a cardboard and present it in class.

Aim:

• To learn and revise words related to food.
• To practice the function “What do you have for breakfast/ lunch/ dinner? (An introduction to Simple Present)
• To talk about healthy – unhealthy food.
• To talk about likes and dislikes, related to food.

Description:

• Children make different kinds of food, using plasticine.
• They also bring two shoe boxes in class, which they cover with pictures of fruits, sweets etc.
• Then they ask each other what they eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They can also say what they like eating.
• In the end, they put their plasticine items into the two boxes separating the healthy from the unhealthy food.

Aim: To revise names of buildings

To give and get directions using the phrases:

how can I get/ go to …?

go straight ahead …

turn left / right into …

It’s on your left / right

To practice prepositions of place:

next to, between, on the corner of, in front of, behind

Description:

Pupils bring empty medicine boxes in class . They wrap and decorate them with glossy paper and give them names of buildings.

In the meantime, on cardboard we have sketched the map of our neighbourhood and pupils put their buildings on it, following or giving instructions (eg: Put the café next to…/on the corner of …)

Finally they move a car in the streets of the cardboard, going from one place to another, after asking for and giving directions.

Part I: Presentation of pupils’ clubs

Description: Pupils in groups of 4-5 present the club they have chosen through pantomime. The rest of the pupils ask questions to guess the club of each group.
Part II: Pupils make posters on which they display all their ideas about their clubs with drawings, photos and comments.

To revise there is – there are – have got

Description of the project:

In class, children talk about their school, using simple sentences with there is, there are, have got.

Then, as homework they write a short paragraph about their school.

Finally in class, in groups of 4, they make a poster, drawing a picture of their school, sticking photos of it and writing about it.
